Kern wins a second iF design award
The noted “Industrie Forum Design” (iF) prize has again been
awarded to a Kern product: the unique Kern 3500 Dual-Channel Inserting and
Mailing System.

The new Kern 3500 exterior was shown for the first time at the
PRINT 05 in Chicago, and will be presented at Océ Open House (Germany) in March
2006

Kern 4000 Mailing System: Great for large envelopes!
The Kern 4000 Document Inserting System enables the simple, rapid and accurate
processing of mailings calling for envelopes as large as 9x12 inches. Thanks
to the machine's well-conceived modular design, your printed output can be fed
sheet by sheet or as continuous forms via several intake channels and then
conveyed for further handling through any number of additional components such
as collating, converging, turning and inserting stations. The system also
allows the processing of documents printed on two tracks.
Additional advantages of the Kern 4000: the attractive appearance of
uncreased documents, several variations of optical reading, suitability for
multiple-shift operations due to the machine's sturdy construction. Easy
access to the document and envelope paths makes it possible to resume
production quickly when the machine stops. And the ergonomically correct
working height makes the Kern 4000 extremely popular with operating personnel.
The Kern 4000 is particularly well-suited for banks, service providers,
telecommunications companies and insurance companies. Its compact,
task-oriented design means that the system takes up amazingly little space.
Compared to all the talk about its performance, you can barely hear the
Kern 4000. The system runs quietly, efficiently and reliably - typical of
Kern!

Cutting up is allowed.
Whether it's a continuous-forms cutter combined with a pre-grouping module,
or an automatic cutter combined with a merger, the customer always gets a
tailor-made input configuration. Even documents printed on pinless
stationery can be cut with precision.
Group picture: with DEG Module.
As many as 20 pages can be pre-grouped by the direct-entry grouping module.
Collated documents are transported along the chain to the inserter.
Please turn over!
The document turner puts the right spin on things - so that they come out
with the printed side facing up or down however you want it! The recipient's
address is always positioned correctly in the envelope window.
Fold to the required size.
The inclusion of a folding module enables you to fold A4 or letter-size
documents, thus making it possible to use smaller envelopes as well. In no
time at all, the compact folding unit can be adjusted for a wide variety of
folds.
Staple what belongs together.
The stapler adds still another dimension to the processing of documents
within a comprehensive modular solution. Finishing on demand!
Insert – with or without enclosures.
You select the number of enclosure stations. At the inserting module,
enclosures - which can vary considerably in terms of size, paper quality and
thickness - are added to the documents arriving from the Input modules.
Optical codes an the main documents tell which addressees are to receive
which enclosures.
